Pastor Ken Shigematsu from Tenth Church in Vancouver shares a special message with Coastal Church.
As we walk out the Christian life, we have this thirst to be pure and more like God. This hope to be pure comes from the Holy Spirit and God has promised He would empower us to live a life of purity in a broken world.
We live in a world today where people are struggling to find their identity. An identity crisis can be described as a period of uncertainty and confusion in which a person’s sense of identity becomes insecure. As a child of God, we have a powerful identity which gives us both security and clarity in our lives and we live under the banner of God’s love.
Names are powerful! When we study the names of God, we begin to understand his nature and character, or how He can help in a time of need. In this message Pastor Fermin talks about Jehovah Raah - which is derived from the Hebrew word meaning "shepherd". This analogy is used many times in the bible, and is an illustration of God's desire to protect us, guide us and meet our needs even when we've gone astray.
The world tells us that freedom is doing whatever we want, but the Bible teaches us that true freedom is found when we submit ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus and the authority in His name.
The Lord’s prayer found in Matthew 6:9-13, is the model or pattern of prayer that Jesus taught us. Jesus didn’t say “pray these words”, but “pray this way”.
