God starts moving on our behalf when we pray. Realize that there is spiritual warfare going on. In Daniel 10, Daniel prays to God. On day 21 the angel comes as an answer to his prayer, but the angel was delayed. There was work going on that Daniel was unaware of in the natural realm. There is a battle going on in the spiritual realms. Don't give up when there is a delay.

The answer may not be what we expect. How do you know God answered the prayer? There is peace and confirmation.

How do you face the fight?

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

Ephesians 6:10-17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. The level of ATTACK exposes the level of your ABILITY.

The greatest spiritual ATTACKS are right before your greatest spiritual BREAKTHROUGHS. 

2.    Spiritual attacks must be EXPOSED.

Indicators That You Are Under Spiritual Attack:

Extreme CONFUSION

Lack of PEACE

Desire to QUIT

Intense TEMPTATION

Drawn to OLD LIFESTYLES

3.    Spiritual VICTORY can be EXPERIENCED.

You can’t fight spiritual WARFARE with physical WEAPONS. OUR SPIRITUAL WEAPONS·

John 16:23-24 Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. ·

The WORD of GOD

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

God’s word is the only OFFENSIVE weapon against the enemy. Jesus’ response to the attack of the enemy: “IT IS WRITTEN”

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. ·

Our enemy is DETERMINED  

I Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Being strong in the Lord isn’t about God GIVING you strength. It is about God BECOMING your strength.  

I Samuel 30:6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.  

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  

My greatest STRENGTH is found at the point of my greatest SURRENDER.  

3. Know your ODDS.   

Difficulty is measured by the CAPACITY of the AGENT doing the work.   

When God is added to the equation, the problem goes from DIFFICULT to EASILY DOABLE.

2. Submit to God’s PLAN.  

James 4:15-17 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.  

3. Build a LEGACY.

James 5:1-6 Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver are corroded. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment. For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter. You have condemned and killed innocent people, who do not resist you.   

4. Live with EXPECTANCY.  

James 5:7-8 Dear brothers and sisters,be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

We SHAPE our words and then our words SHAPE us.  

2. My words can WRECK my WORLD.  

James 3:5-6 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.  

Proverbs 10:19 Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.  

Pass NEGATIVES up and PRAISE down.  

3. My words always REVEAL my HEART.  

James 3:9-12 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.  

The real problem isn’t my TONGUE, it is my HEART.  

James 3:7-8 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.  1. INVITE God to CHANGE my heart.  

Jeremiah 24:7 I will give them hearts that recognize me as the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly.  

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.  

Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.  

2. Put a FILTER on what I ALLOW in my heart.  

Matthew 12:34a-35 NIV For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.   

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.  

3. DECIDE to SPEAK words of life.  

Words of AFFECTION  

Matthew 3:16-17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”  

Words of PRAISE  

Proverbs 25:11 Like golden apples in silver settings, so is a word spoken at the right time.  Words of ENCOURAGEMENT  

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  Words of HEALING  Proverbs 15:4 Kind words are good medicine, but deceitful words can really hurt.  

Words of FAITH  

Romans 4:17 That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.
