A few weeks ago Humboldt Surfrider's Jessie Misha and I spoke with Heal the Bay about their Beach Bummer list. They mentioned that DHHS does the water quality testing locally. We spoke with Senior Environmental Health Specialist at Humboldt County Division of Environmental Health Consumer Protection Program Morgan Cook about this beach monitoring.

Fish and Wildlife Interpreter Marnin Robbins came in to talk about underwater parks created by the marine protected areas and the film California Fish and Wildlife just made about them! The video will be shown at the next Ocean Night on Feb 8 at the Arcata Theatre Lounge.

California Department of Fish & Wildlife Marine Region Environmental Scientist Adam Frimodig came in to explain Marine Protected Areas (also known as MPAs) and talk about the recently completed Phase I Monitoring that the state just finished.
