There’s a difference between wanting to be liked and needing to be liked.

People pleasing can look like kindness or even servanthood from the outside, but underneath it can be driven by insecurity, fear, and our need for the approval of others. When other people’s expectations begin determining our decisions, we can lose sight of the purpose and priorities God has entrusted to us.

Looking at the life of Jesus in John 2, this message explores four remedies for breaking free from people pleasing: know your role, know whom to fear, know which witness matters, and know whose approval matters.

Jesus wasn’t searching for identity—He was ministering from it.

Discover the freedom that comes when your identity is no longer determined by the response of the crowd, but firmly established in the love, acceptance, affirmation, and pleasure of your Heavenly Father.

God has entrusted each of us with something valuable. The question is not simply what we have received, but what we will do with it.
