This is the time of year when many of the different theme parks and amusement parks all over the country announce their new attractions and additions for the 2007 season.
During this week's show, we'll talk about two of the most recent announcements:
Maverick at Cedar Point - The Point's 17th coaster will be a terrain-hugging ride that features a 105-foot drop at 95-degrees, three inversions and a 70 mph launch through a dark tunnel
Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe - The 205-foot floorless dive coaster will be the tallest ride of it's kind anywhere in the world. It will feature a 205-foot, 90-degree drop, two Immelmann loops, a second 130-foot dive and a water splashdown effect.
These rides sound pretty cool. right?
Well, there are some members of the coaster enthusiast community who aren't very happy. They expected more and are disappointed that we're not seeing more height and speed out of this year's crop of announcements.
This week, we'll talk about the hype surrounding new and future announcements. Can anything satisfy us anymore?
We're also looking for stories from cast members about their time working at a park. If you have a funny or shocking story from your days on the job at a theme park, e-mail us at feedback [@] coasterradio.com.
Don't forget to nominate your favorite park or attraction in our 2006 CoasterRadio.com Awards!
