Phoenix Rising grind out a 1-0 result to take all 3 points away from home against the bottom feeder of the West, Orange County SC. Rising didn’t make it easy on themselves as yet again they had a slow start to the match as OC doubled Rising’ shot attempts.

As the second half grew on, similarly to nearly every previous match, Rising continued to dominate the possession battle. Yet, it was a moment of brilliance from Manuel Arteaga in the 67th minute that made the difference for Rising. The most agile of finishes led to a nearly 30-min test of will as Rising hung on and staved off OC’s late push as Rising captured back-to-back victories AND a clean sheet for the first time this season in the 2023 USL Championship season.
