The Phantom Stranger has a long and varied history in the DC Universe. But in the New 52 Universe, in "Phantom Stranger" #0 by Dan Didio and Brent Anderson, his origin has been explicitly tied to a religious and biblical story. This is perhaps the closest a mainstream comic has come to making Judeo-Christian characters legitimate players in a fictional universe. What does this mean theologically? What does this mean for comics?

This month, we're back in podcast form, and Dr. A. David Lewis joins me again to discuss the new Phantom Stranger's origin and the ramifications of who he is to the larger Christian mythology in comic form.
