This Wednesday night we cozied up with our take on an alcoholic hot chocolate cocktail and watched one of Aiden's comfort movies; the original Friday the 13th movie.
We discover that Pamela Voorhees is pretty high on our list of horror movie mums (she looks like she'd give good hugs), and that the practical effects in this 80's film really hold up... Possibly the best beheading scene ever?
Kevin Bacon's ass is disappointing, don't watch this movie for him. Watch it for Pamela, our new Mum.
In today's episode, we collapse on the couch with our cocktails to watch the follow-up to the '2017 film referred to as It' - It Chapter 2 (2019). We discover that the film is a very mixed bag of fun and annoying parts, Richie is of course the biggest mood, our cocktails have a good "mouth feel" and Brie forgot she can't mix her meds with her drink and almost fell asleep while recording the second half of the episode!
*note* Originally this episode was to be uploaded in early August however, the episode file got corrupted and so we had to rerecord this when our schedule allowed us to. This does mean that this episode doesn't touch on a lot of points that we had already discussed in the non-existent first recording. Aside from the very loose and rambly nature of this episode, we hope as always you enjoy it and that you take the time to have a browse of our new website and social media pages!
In today's episode, we watch one of Brie's comfort films, It (2017). While enjoying a caramel popcorn martini, the three of us watch and discuss the movie, trying and failing to stay on topic.
*note* throughout this episode references are made to the actor known as Willem Dafoe, due to a piece of trivia about the film 'Antichrist' Brie informed Aiden and Ben prior to recording. Please do not look into this piece of trivia if you are under the age of 18 (in which case please ignore this podcast) or want to be able to maintain a sense of innocence when this actor graces your screen.
*actual relevant note* whilst filming this episode we experienced a technical issue resulting in large chunks of our discussion points ending up being illegible. Please just trust us when we say we had some kinda deep talking points here that missed out on being added - Brie will be forever mad the in-depth discussion about Bev's sexualization was cut out.
After a long day, we take a shot and sit down with our cocktails, ready to meet the iconic slasher Leatherface for the first time. Surprisingly we discover he looks good in a suit... Oh and the movie holds up. Like, really holds up.
