Lord God, to Thee we all give praise,

Our thankful hearts to Thee we raise,

For countless hosts of angels bright

Who serve Thy Son in cloudless light.

Pure in their nature, good and true,

’Tis their delight Thy will to do;

From heaven they come the souls to guard

Who trust in Thy most holy Word.

They joy when but one sinner turns;

Their zeal for Jesus ever burns;

They serve His people night and day,

And turn full many an ill away.

All little ones awake, asleep,

And every child of Thine, they keep;

O’er all Thy kingdom, far and hear,

They give their kind and loving care.

When death approaches, they will come

To soften pain, and guide us home;

And when the spirit leaves the clay

They bear us to the realms of day.

Stars of the morning, so gloriously bright,

Filled with celestial resplendence and light,

These that, where night never followeth day,

Raise the “Thrice holy” for ever and aye!

These are Thy ministers, these dost Thou own,

Lord God of Sabaoth, nearest Thy throne;

These are Thy messengers, these dost Thou send,

Help of the helpless ones, man to defend.

Then, when the earth was first poised in mid space,

Then, when the planets first sped on their race,

Then, when were ended the six days’ employ,

Then all the sons of God shouted for joy.

Still let them succour us; still let them fight,

Lord of angelic hosts, battling for right

Tell, where their anthems they ceaselessly pour,

We with the angels may bow and adore.

We all believe in one true God,

Maker of the earth and heaven,

The Father, who to us in love

Hath the right of children given.

He both soul and body feedeth,

All we need He doth provide us;

He through snares and perils leadeth,

Watching that no harm betide us.

He careth for us day and night,

All things are governed by His might.

We all believe in Jesus Christ,

His own Son, our Lord, possessing

An equal godhead, throne and might,

Source of every grace and blessing;

Was incarnate by the Spirit

Of the chosen virgin-mother,

That the lost might life inherit,

Made true man, our elder brother;

Was crucified for sinful men,

And raised by God to life again.

We in the Holy Ghost believe,

Who sweet grace and comfort giveth,

And with the Father and the Son

In eternal glory liveth;

Who the Church, His own creation,

Keeps in unity of spirit;

Here forgiveness and salvation

Daily come through Jesus’ merit.

All flesh shall rise, and we shall be

In bliss with God eternally.
