Coffee and Clergy

As days go by, our world seems to distance itself more and more from God. But how should we as Christians reconcile being Christians in a secular world. Join Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott as today they begin our series on Dual Citizenship and focus on "Two Realms, One Kingdom".

Our last episode covering the Gospel of Mark! Listen as Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott dissect Jesus' last days and cover the controversial ending to Mark!

As we get near to the end of Mark, things start getting intense as Jesus is betrayed and arrested. Join Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott as they discuss Mark chapter 14.

Today we share the last of our series from July 2020 where we interviewed commissioned ministers from our church at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Chesterfield, MO. This episode we learn from our Minister of Early Childhood, Babs Hunt, who joined us in May of 2020! She shares about how God brought her to King of Kings and how preschool and COVID have been quite the journey this year.

After technical difficulties last week, Pastor Scott and DCE Paul dive into chapters 12 and 13 of Mark where we hear Jesus debate the Sadducees and scribes as well as talk about the end of times!

As a continuation of our Commissioned Church Worker series, we will be hearing from our Parish Administrator, Tom Viliocco. Tom has been serving our congregation for 20 years as our Lay Minister (now Director of Christian Ministries) and Parish Administrator. He is retiring this winter and we thank him for his many years of exceptional service! This episode was originally recorded on July 22nd, 2020

We're now over halfway through our study of Mark. Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott dive into passages where Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, He curses a fig tree, cleanses the temple, and the Pharisees question Jesus' authority. Jesus is getting closer to fulfilling His mission here on earth.

This recording originally aired on July 15th, 2020 as part of our Commissioned Edition series learning about commissioned workers in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We plan to post these whenever we take a week off. We'll be back at it with the Gospel of Mark next week!

Join Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott as they continue through the Gospel of Mark chapter 9, verse 14 through chapter 10, verse 45. This week hear about Jesus casting out an unclean spirit, foretelling His death and resurrection, and preaching .

In this week's discussion, Pastor Doug and Pastor Scott look at Mark 8-9:13 and discuss more miracles that Jesus does and what the yeast of the Pharisees and Herod means. It ends with the Transfiguration as Mark's Gospel leaves us right before things start to get more intense.
