Today we'll take a much-deserved coffee break and talk about cover letters. Why do employers want them? To make the process a bit more arbitrary? To get that sweet, sweet power fix when you have the power over people's livelihoods? I'm not a fan, but I'll share with you the one scenario that I can think of where the cover letter might help save you from the rejection pile.
