“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done - Bruce Lee”
Time management is an integral part of professional & personal life. It plays a major role in moulding an individual's character and attitude indirectly, which is indispensable in their career path.
Why is it so important and is considered as a valuable asset in one's life? Is it really necessary to follow timelines and does that make a difference?
Time has its own importance across all the fields. We follow strict timelines right from the day we are born. The child is fed from time to time and is not made to starve. Also making regular health check-ups and maintaining vaccination schedules.
Slowly we started adhering to time schedules in our education process. Be it school or college, regular timelines are followed. Remember times when we were punished for being late for school/college or delayed submission of home works & assignments. During the exams, with the words "Last 5 minutes, tie up your papers", we start hurrying up and tend to do things fast, thereby start realizing the importance of time.
In the next stage of career building process, we prepare ourselves well and end up attending the interview process a bit earlier to avoid last minute rush. Once we start with our career, we are monitored whether we adhere to the work hours and follow the timelines in the form of work targets.
But the question is why we are pushing ourselves with the time. We can do things in a real relaxed manner, with accuracy and precise quality when done at leisurely pace.
Though the fact is "TIME DOESN'T WAIT FOR ANYONE". We are in a competitive world where things are getting updated every second and every second counts. If we adhere to timelines, we can upgrade ourselves and be in line with the changing world.
Just an example - You are given 6 hours to complete a task, but you complete it in 4 hours and have 2 full hours left. Either you have an option to take rest or utilise it properly to upgrade yourself. Which one will you choose???? (Please pour in your comments)
In reality time is like a human being it will be valuable as it grows (as time lapses). We definitely cannot go back and correct our mistakes or make any changes. Never waste the valuable time and start utilising it properly.
"Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. -M. Scott Peck"
