Welcome to this week's bonus episode! I am so excited for you to listen to my guest's story. Cristabelle Braden is  an award winning singer/songwriter, keynote speaker, writer, and podcast host. After suffering a traumatic brain injury, she began to write music. Since then, she has surpassed medical expectations and thrived in her newfound gift of music; she has come from re-learning daily life tasks in brain injury rehabilitation to setting her feet firmly on the ground as a songwriter, speaker, and artist with a message of hope. She is truly someone that will fill your heart with so much hope and inspiration. I had a lot of fun chatting with her over the virtual coffee table, and it was such a privilege to listen to her story. She shared with me that  whatever you have gone through don't be afraid to hope. So inspiring!

Hey friends, welcome to another episode of Coffee jeans and Jesus. I'm glad that you're back. Today's episode is a bonus episode and it's a little bit different, in a good way. So, if you are listening when this airs it's Black Friday, and you might be stressed out from Thanksgiving, or you might be feeling the aftereffects of overeating. But I want you to be inspired and I also want you to laugh a little bit. So, this episode is a little bit more on the lighthearted side. We are going to talk about what it was like growing up as a Mexican kid. We are going to talk about a few different things, like things that your parents might have said or things that you experienced as a child. Hey friends, so happy to have you back at the virtual coffee table!  You're in for a treat, today my brother Lupe Alva and I discuss what happens when you miss the blessing from your parents. The Blessing is a book by John Trent and and Gary Smalley, if you have the updated version you will also see Kari Trent Stageberg on the cover. This book really dives deep into understanding your self-worth, and also preparing your children for positive future relationships, and that includes their relationship with God. It is deeply rooted in scripture, and focuses on five essential elements; a meaningful touch, a spoken message, attaching high value, picturing a special future, and an active commitment. If you are a parent this book is definitely a must! If you come from a broken home, this book is going to give you a lot of insight into your view of relationships, and life.

Lupe and I talk about how growing up in a broken home shifted our view of God and people, but also how God has the power to heal, restore, and break the curse of not receiving or giving the blessing in our own family. If you have been questioning why you react a certain way, why your childhood was a certain way, and even why you react in certain ways, this episode is going to encourage you. Hey Friend, today I have a bonus episode of Coffee Jeans & Jesus. I wanted to share a quick word of encouragement today for those of you who have been feeling discouraged.  God has been dealing with my heart, and really allowing me to see how other women get discouraged, and  feel like they're not good enough. There are many women who compare themselves, and who are believing lies that were spoken over them as children. Many times these things begin to grow inside of us, and as we step into adulthood, we have learned how to function through the criticism that has been spoken over us, and many times that critical voice isn't even our voice.
So, if you struggle with comparing yourself, or you struggle with feeling like you're not good enough then I believe this episode is going to bring hope and healing to your heart.
