Welcome to the first installment of my latest series That I call

"Roadtrip - my Journey through the Psalms!"

I am not going to go through EVERY Psalm, just the ones that have spoken to me throughout the years. It's been awhile since I have camped in the Psalms, and I am looking forward to it.

Peter summarizes this letter as it pertains to false teachers, and reminds them of the "Day of the Lord" - it will be unexpected, sudden. and devastating.

One of the things we Believers will have to deal with are those who laugh at us for our waiting for the return of our King.

Peter has some very strong words for those who purport to be Prophets from God and for those teachers who claim to teach what God says.

Peter is near the end of his life, So he wastes no time on frivolity. He reminds them he is an eye witness and the Torah is not to be ignored.

Peter focuses on internal pressures i.e. false teachings and false teachers asooposed to his 1st letter, where he focused on the external pressures of trips and persecution from Rome.

In order to discern the false from the true, we need to know that which is true to such a degree, the the false is immediately clear.

This is my summary of the book of 1 Peter.

Only three verses... yet there are some very useful and important thoughts here as Peter closes this letter out.

Peter turns his attention to the younger men - and speaks to suffering, and the battle they (and by extension, us) are fighting.

In light of the suffering they are and will be going through, Peter gives specific instructions to the elders in the churches.
