In this episode, we look at three reasons why John Calvin possesses a unique tool kit for interpreting Scripture: (1) his background in studying Law, (2) his study of Renaissance Humanism, and (3) his study of the original languages of Scripture and early translations of Scripture (i.e., Hebrew, Latin, and Greek).
Furthermore, we look at Calvin's commentary on Genesis 1:1 to exemplify his abilities in utilizing the original languages and his education to understand the text of Scripture conservatively and literally.
