3 Cybersecurity & Business Lessons from CEO Ephraim Ebstein of Fit Solutions:
1. Hiring is a security issue. A core values presentation filters out the wrong people — fast. Know who you're letting in.
2. IT should serve the business. If your IT team doesn't know where revenue comes from, you have a leadership problem.
3. Manage up. Don't wait to be asked. Deliver the right information proactively — to your team and your clients.

Ephraim Ebstein is the Founder and CEO of FIT Solutions, a managed IT and cybersecurity company he built with a focus on people, accountability, and real-world execution. With years of hands-on experience in IT and security, Ephraim helps organizations cut through noise, reduce risk, and build technology environments that actually support growth. I'd known about Lori Lipten for almost 20 years before I finally booked a session. The day after my first one, she said my back felt like a kid's, no knots anywhere. I told her my dad had come through and apologized for something, and I let it go.
On today's episode of Coffee with Jon, Lori Lipten talks about her journey to becoming, and being, a shamanic medium.3 highlights:
1. Lori was on the treadmill when she felt an angel touch her forehead and say the name ""Thomas,"" a boy who'd passed away. She made one phone call to a woman she barely knew, and that call became the first reading she ever gave. She never set out to be a medium. It found her.
2. Her framework for intuition is "attune, align, allow." Drop into your heart, notice when you're contracting versus expanding, and let that be your signal before you react instead of respond.
3. Before she ever took a paying client, Lori spent 10 to 12 years quietly honing her gift in private. Nobody sees that part. They only see the moment it looks like it happened overnight.
Lori said it best: figure out your gift, then ask, "What do you want me to do with it?"

1. Resistance isn't rebellion, it's biology. When people resist change, it's not defiance, it's neurology. Stop asking "how do I overcome resistant people." Start asking "what do they need."
2. The CRM problem is everywhere.People don't refuse new tools. They use them at the bare minimum while keeping the old way on the side as their real source of truth. That's silent resistance, not loud objection.
3. Cadence beats content.A short, consistent check-in on any change removes the ambiguity that gets filled by speculation. No rhythm means someone else writes the story for you.

TRAVIS D. HAHLER transforms how Fortune 500 companies navigate change by revealing a startling truth: Resistance isnt rebellion—it's biology. As Senior Director of Global Strategy and Transformation at Salesforce, and Founder of The Neurological Nomad, Hahler brings an unprecedented fusion of neuroscience and business acumen to organizational transformation. His unique journey conducting EEG research in Denmark, studying neuropsychology at Harvard, earning an MBA, and leading change at Google, Salesforce, and others, makes him a unique transformation expert who can explain why your amygdala sabotages your strategic plan and why you can blame everything on your basal ganglia. Over fifteen years, Hahler has guided more than one hundred companies through successful transformations, earning him the nickname Resistance Fortune Teller for his uncanny ability to predict where change efforts will fail. His signature keynote, The Neuroscience of Change, has reached over 25,000 leaders across 150 global events, consistently delivering that aha moment when executives finally understand why 70 percent of transformations fail to achieve their goals. And, more importantly, how they can join the successful 30 percent. Rethink Resistance represents Hahler's continued mission to democratize neuroscience for business leaders. Helping them to remove ego and embrace neuroscience to lead transformational change. Hahler lives with his husband, Brian, son, Lachlan, and dog, Burton, while working toward a future where understanding neural wiring leads to putting people back at the center of change.

Here are 5 highlights from our talk:
1. It's an inside job. The difference between those who succeed and those who don't is whether they do the inner work.
2. Know your zone of genius. Double down on what you're great at and build people around you who cover the rest.
3. Become a feedback junkie. Ask after every meeting. Learn to love what you hear.
4. Check your energy before every week. Energy up, energy down, or neutral. That simple.
5. Write down the story you're telling yourself. That's where change begins.

Keep going. Fabian hit $48M in revenue. Not fast. Not easy. But he kept going.
Pick partners you like. When things get hard, you get closer, not distant.
Take care of yourself first. Meditation. Fitness. Family. The oxygen mask goes on you before anyone else.

Fabian Calvo is a longevity industry executive and pharmaceutical supply chain strategist who has built, scaled, and led multiple companies across the compounding pharmacy, API sourcing, and clinic fulfillment ecosystem. He currently serves as Interim CEO and Member of the Board at WellSync Rx, a longevity medicine and strategic sourcing company based in Los Angeles.
Fabian is also Co-Founder of four interconnected ventures that span the pharmaceutical supply chain: Gatlan (2022) — A longevity medicine platform based in Los Angeles NuCare API (2023) — An active pharmaceutical ingredient sourcing company based in Orange County, California BoomRx (2024) — A pharmacy portal and technology platform for physician practices, based in Tampa, Florida ProRx Pharma (2024) — A 503B outsourcing facility based in Exton, Pennsylvania

His work extends into regulatory and policy engagement. Fabian has participated in direct discussions with FDA leadership, including meetings with Dr. Martin Makary, on issues ranging from peptide reclassification (the recent Category 2 to Category 1 transition) to the SAPIR initiative — the federal effort to reshore active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing to the United States.

Outside of his operating roles, Fabian advises elite founders, executives, and high-net-worth individuals on longevity and performance optimization. He publishes Long Live, a weekly newsletter on the intersection of longevity, performance, and what he sees from inside the supply chain.
He is based in Los Angeles County, California.

Just a belief that she was meant to build something.
Here are three highlights from our Coffee with Jon conversation:
1. Do it scared. Don't wait until you're ready. You won't be.
2. Passion isn't enough. Be good at it too. When passion and talent align, that's the sweet spot.
3. Start every day with the thing you least want to do. What's the one task your dreading most? Do that first. The rest of the day gets easier.

Cara's love for the outdoors started long before her career did. After college, she jumped into the fast-paced world of consulting, traveling week after week, but she quickly realized that climbing the traditional ladder wasn't the path for her and that she wanted to create something of her own. She launched a travel tech platform to help people plan and book road trips, gaining firsthand experience in building and growing a business. It was when she pivoted to the outdoor experience industry that everything clicked. Today, Cara brings NYC locals together outside the city, helping brands, communities, and companies turn a day outdoors into hassle-free, meaningful connections.

But for millions of Americans, it does.
Sandeep Acharya saw the broken system and built Octave Health to fix it.
Here are three takeaway's from our Coffee with Jon conversation:
1. Solve the friction first. Therapists couldn't take insurance easily. Patients couldn't find who was available. Sandeep didn't pick one problem — he solved both. Remove the friction and people show up.
2. Simple is hard. Do it anyway. It took five years of data and testing to make their platform truly simple. Most businesses give up and add complexity. The best ones grind until it's easy.
3. Pain is a compass. A friend's tragedy — unable to find a therapist when he needed one most, is what launched his company.
---
Prior to co-founding Octave, Sandeep Acharya led strategy at One Medical for 5 years. In this role, he was responsible for launching & scaling several new services and oversaw the growth of its employer business to over 1,000 companies, while being a member of a senior leadership team that expanded the company to over sixty clinics in eight cities. Before One Medical, he spent his career as an investor, operator and consultant in the healthcare, retail, and technology sectors at Bain & Co, Bain Capital & Insight Venture Partners. Sandeep holds degrees in computer science & business from Wharton and Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
Though Sandeep has fled the East Coast for California, he remains an avid (if suffering) New York Giants fan."

I sat down with Hamsa Yaqo and Paul Spiegelman, co-founders of Kintsugi Village, a unique early childhood learning community in Detroit focused on curiosity, creativity, life skills, and community.
3 Takeaways:1. Curiosity is a superpower. The best learning starts with questions.
2. Life skills matter as much as academics. Kindness, communication, and emotional intelligence are foundational skills.
3. Everyone needs a calm corner. The ability to pause, reset, and recalibrate is a lifelong advantage.
In a world moving faster than ever, getting back to center may be one of the most important skills we can develop.
We dive into that and much more in my conversation with Hamsa and Paul.
--- Hamsa Yaqo is a purpose-driven business leader and co-founder of Kintsugi Village, a community-centered hub in Detroit focused on early childhood education, the arts, food, and connection. With a background spanning higher education, tech, and mission-driven organizations, she is passionate about building strong teams, thoughtful processes, and meaningful impact. Hamsa holds a degree in Mathematics from Wayne State University and an MBA from Walsh College. Outside of work, Hamsa loves cooking, playing Scrabble, exploring cities like a local, and spending time with her family.
Paul Spiegelman is the co-founder of Kintsugi Village. He is also the founder of BerylHealth, The Beryl Institute, and the Small Giants Community. He is a New York Times best-selling author and has been honored with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. His thoughts have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Inc. Magazine.
Paul practiced law for two years prior to founding BerylHealth. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from UCLA and a law degree from Southwestern University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis and traveling."

1. Every org chart needs a VA today. Stop paying $100/hour talent to do $10/hour work. Free them up to do higher value work.
2. Clarity drives results — not geography. A VA in the Philippines or Latin America performs when expectations and outcomes are crystal clear. That's a leadership issue, not a location issue.
3. Start with one. Scale from there. Most clients add a VA once they see it work. Begin where the pain is greatest.
