I have felt that Brad Valiukas and his team were focused on a mining strategy. This move has confirmed my thoughts.   Aurumin Limited (ASX:AUN) listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) with two very interesting projects in the Southern Cross Goldfields that has a history of producing high-grade resources.   The strategy was pretty straight forward. Acquire historical mining projects that have potential for growth, drill and develop. When I hear companies with this strategy, many use that as the lead for a story and few actually have the intent to make it happen.   The initial Mt Dimer and Mt Palmer and Johnson Range initial cornerstone projects for the company. However, with this acquisition, the Sandstone project is a step up.   One of the key aspect of the project is the 500,000 ounces of gold resources which is untouched and underground. Coffee with Samso Episode 123 is with Nicole Galloway Warland, Managing Director - Thor Mining Plc (ASX: THR)   Thor Mining is a very special diversified mineral exploration company. Special in that there are three very prospective projects and one of them could make this minnow a serious copper producer.   Our first encounter with Thor Mining was in February 2021 with a Coffee with Samso - A Potential ESG compliant Copper-Gold Producer: Thor Mining Plc (ASX:THR) - and the current Managing Director, Nicole Galloway Warland was the the Exploration manager. The projects were just being worked on with just potential as the story.   I liked the projects then and felt that if worked was done and the results were favourable, any of their projects would be a flagship status. Sure enough, work has been done and it looks like my gut feel was on the money.   In this episode of Coffee with Samso, Nicole will share about the mass amount of work in 2021. I feel that the maturity of the projects over the 10 months is profound and had shifted my thinking on the direction of the company.   I remember Nicole telling me that Ragged Range was going to surprise people and it had definitely surprised me. The potential of the area is really only limited to the funding capacity of the company. The Pilbara is just showing its potential and those working in the region will continue to unearth the hidden metal endowment that lies beneath this craton.   AS for the Copper projects in South Australia, I am greatly relieved that the recent results have made great progress. The ISR potential of the Alford projects is going to make Thor Mining stand up and be known. I have always liked the potential and I talked about it in the first Coffee with Samso with Nicole and the previous Chairman, Mick Billing.   I believe that the ISR potential should be the company's main focus and the creation of a Green Copper story is achievable. My take on the Green metal story, the Green Mining story is one that can only happy if you have naturally occurring infrastructure. What I mean in term of infrastructure is the Green Power + Green Minable Economical Resource + Governance/Jurisdiction.   In my opinion, Thor has these three components available. They just need to make it work.   The MolyHil project is the third part of the story (at this stage). The recent discovery of a skarn source for the Tungsten and Molybdenum mineralisation may change the whole economics of the project. This is now partnered with a rising Molybdenum price in 2021. Coffee with Samso Episode 124 with James E Marsh, Andromeda Metals Limited (ASX:ADN)     In two years, the Andromeda Metals story has taken many turns. Today, there is a lot of misconception, misunderstanding and a lack of understanding of what does the company do.   When I first spoke to Andromeda Metals Limited (ASX: ADN) in late 2019, I felt that this was a company with such a simple business - a simple business that was going to make a lot of money. After talking with James Marsh and learning more about the business, I was convinced that this was better than an AUD$0.04 stock.   Andromeda Metals did not make me wrong, in fact, the shares went to a high of AUD$0.45 putting their market capitalisation at over AUD$1B. Episode 113 of Coffee with Samso is the first of the Exploration Discovery Series that shares great discovery stories. Samso will use these series to share the thoughts that made the discoveries and the stories that followed.   In this first of the series, we have Jon Hronsky, of Western Mining Services telling us about the discovery of the West Musgraves Ni-Cu-PGE district.   The West Musgrave Ni-Cu-PGE is more than a discovery as Jon Hronsky puts it, this is a shift in understanding. A paradigm shift in the understanding of mineral exploration.   This is a great story of how thinking outside the box brought about a change in looking at discoveries. I loved the idea that it was during this significant time that culminated in a whole new way of looking a finding major deposits.   Western Mining was and is still the only company that was a world class explorer who dared to look for the Tier 1 deposits. Funding was not for mining the market but rather for the discoveries that was to be delivered by the geoscientists who were valued and cherished.   Another take away from this episode is that release of geophysical data had helped in the discovery. Cooper Metals Limited (ASX: CPM) is an mineral exploration story chasing concepts for Copper and Gold. We speak to Ian Warland, the Managing Director, in Coffee with Samso, Episode 122.   Ian is a exploration geologist with more than three decades of experience and he shares with us the concepts of the Cooper Metals story.   Copper is where you see it on the surface - Ian Warland.   When I first looked at Cooper Metals I was surprised at the location of their tenure in Mt. Isa which is right in the heart of the Mt. Isa Inlier story. It is very much like the Miramar Resources story with the Gidji JV in Kalgoorlie. The Mt. Isa East project is literally within stones throw from major deposits. There are deposits with world class numbers that are within the same region.   I am not saying that there is a like for like resemblances in the geology but it tells me that the region is a melt of mineralisation. A nearology story that has proven success and the fruits are well endowed. There is no doubt that the company will find smoke in their exploration as they recently announced some great rock chips from existing trenches (Mt Isa East rock chip assays up to 35.3% Cu and 7.96g/t Au).   My thoughts are that the Queensland project is the one to watch for now. As Ian mentioned, their next step is to fly a new geophysical survey which will give them more detailed understanding on where the potential mineralisation can be found.       The next targets for the company is the Yarmana project and the Gooroo project in Western Australia. These are more early stage projects but their potential is not to be ignored. I like the Yarmana project as there have a tenement that is adjacent to the world class Gruyere Gold mine which is owned by Gold Road Resources Limited (ASX: GOR).   The Gooroo project may be my third choice but the recent change in understanding of the greenstone presence within the Gullewa Greenstone belt may be more than interesting.   The Project area is located within the Archaean Gullewa Greenstone belt in the Murchison Province of the Archaean Yilgarn Craton. The area is prospective for Archean gold and Volcanic Massive Sulphide deposits.
