One of the horrendous effects of The Fall is that we live in a broken world where trials and suffering is inevitable. For the Christian, these things serve several purposes. They remind us that we are not at home, and they produce the virtue of steadfastness which conforms us more to the image of Christ. Therefore, we consider trials pure joy.

Christians are called to a humble reliance upon the Spirit of God for daily living. We might be tempted to live by other means, and in Ephesians 5:18, Paul uses the metaphor of drunkenness for how we ought to live. Not as those inebriated by wine, but as those compelled by the Holy Spirit.

Each of us are prone to forget who we are and instead of viewing ourselves in light of who God is, we often seek our identity in false things. Galatians 2:20 reminds us who we are and that we are ultimately defined in relation to Christ. For the redeemed, we've died to our old selves and the life we now live we live by faith.

2 Timothy 3:16 is an important passage as it speaks to the amazing fact of the Holy Spirit inspired Scriptures. We encourage and challenge you to commit this passage to memory as we believe that it will spur you on in your faith.

How did we get here? Why are we teaching through discipleship and where is the Lord leading us? In this sermon Daniel Attaway, our Discipleship Minister walks through what has brought us here, some issues we've identified, and how Fight Clubs can serve as a helpful remedy as we seek to 1) Fight for Faith and 2) Fight against Sin.

We are often guilty of holding an incomplete view of conversion in the life of the believer, as if Christ died only to forgive our sins. When we are converted to Christ, we are also grafted into a common membership and commissioned to make disciples. In this sermon, Pastor Tim walks through these three conversions, recognizing that Christ is our only Lord, but when He becomes Lord he coverts us by the Spirit to His Church and His Mission.

The end goal of discipleship is being conformed to the image of Christ. The process of spiritual formation is a work of the Holy Spirit, but we have often neglected His presence and power. As we walk by the Spirit, we do so with our focus on what God has done, not on our religious performance.
