Cogitations

It has always been an abused and misunderstood principle that God desires mercy over sacrifice. Today Aaron and Tony will discuss this wonderful passage and talk about exactly what the sentiment means and what it does not mean. We pray something said will edify and inform you.

This episode is going to be very uncomfortable. Anytime we talk about protecting children from the predations of adults is an uncomfortable conversation, not because we do not want to have the conversation but because we understand and know the need for such a conversation. I pray someting said will edify and inform you.

The Apostle Paul is known for being zealous and bold to preach the gospel. We can emulate him as he emulates Christ and we, too, can be as strong as he. I hope you'll be encouraged and edified by something said.

A few years ago. friend shared a post about an ancient emperor of Rome and his opining over Christian charity. There is more than a moral reason for the virtue of charity, there is a utility about charity that we desperately need. I pray someting said will edify and inform.

Here is an article based on our show topic for today: https://open.substack.com/.../p/emperor-julians-lament...

Our relationship with God is largely an intellectual exchange. I believe that is why so much emphasis is placed on sobriety. Join us today for a conversation on right reasoning from the perspective of logical fallacies. We will discuss at least two, equivocation fallacy and negative inference fallacy.

Does the Bible teach that Christians must gather together for a formal worship service? This concept has come under some scrutiny. Today we will make the case for the legitimacy and authority of a worship service.

I say someone drop a reference to Psalm 139:6 the other day and so I went and read the psalm in its entirety. Of course, it is a wonderful psalm from which we'll be pulling points for discussion in today's episode of Cogitations.

I suppose the topic of baptism will always be a hot topic. Often I eschew arguing in its favor. Either one can see from Scripture the necessity for it or one does not. If one does not it is very difficult to get past the wall of cognitive dissonance and convince them otherwise. In this episode of Cogitations we'll look at, in my opinion, the simplest argument in favor of the act. We'll also discuss how it is not a work of man.
