People usually think that when you ask them to change their behaviour, you're asking them to replace it with something else and be someone different than they are. In reality, changing behaviour is not about replacing the behaviour but improving the one you already had.
I'm not telling you to, for example, stay silent instead of speaking what you believe in. Because that would be the opposite of it. Instead, I'm asking you to speak what you stand for in a kind way, without insulting anyone for believing different than you. Improve what you already do, not replace.
