Known for her big heart, culinary talent, and dedication to helping others, Joyner’s promising life was cut short on February 8, 2005, when she was found murdered in her apartment. The close-knit Kenyan community in Delaware rallied to honor her life and send her body back to Kenya, where the crime garnered international attention.
