In September of 1984 twelve year old Sharon Bald Eagle along with her 15 year old friend are running away from Hot Springs, North Dakota where Sharon was attending the Brainard Indian School. The girls were hitchhiking to Idaho when they were picked up near Caster, Wyoming by Royal Russell Long, Long will ultimately kidnap the two girls and tie them up at gun point. Sharon’s friend is able to escape and call for help but when police arrive Sharon and Long are gone. Sharon has never been found to date.
