At Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder’s meeting in 2011, billionaire investor Warren Buffett was asked what he thought about the contentious negotiations happening in Congress over whether or not to raise the debt ceiling. His response: failing to raise the debt ceiling would be a massive mistake.
