In this latest episode Jake is back in town! Scott, Jake and Reese take another, more level headed look at musicals and what makes them so terrific. They discuss three very different musicals; LaLa Land, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Yesterday.
The ColdBros consider what defines a musical and then share some takes on why a musical can create such strong feelings of dislike.
Join us as we break down these vastly different films and bask in the glory of what is The Musical.

Scott, Reese, and Chris discuss their homework from the last episode where they assigned great action movies/TV shows. On this episode the ColdBros pontificate on "what an action movie really is". They dive deep into their assignments of watching The Raid Redemption, and The Raid 2, The Terminal List, and RRR. Reese absolutely hated one of these assignments.... And Chris actually liked them! (I know, right?)

What's got Reese in such a feisty mood? Is it the Ragnar in him?
The Coldbros are back to talk more about Middle Earth and the continued drama behind Amazon's The Rings of Power. More developments means more discussion, and some developments have some Tolkien fans alarmed.
We also jump into our first IDAO (I'll do anything once) segment in a long while! In our Coldbow Awards episode, Troy nominated the film The Harder They Fall for best musical score. A nomination he felt went overlooked a bit - so he decided to make a whole damn episode about it!
The Harder They Fall is a western film that released on Netflix in 2021. It stars Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield, and more in a story about revenge, bank robberies, and cowboy gangs. The Coldbros discuss the film's soundtrack, story, history, cinematography, & gratuitous violence. The hip slinging gunster in Troy can't get enough.
Reese why you so mad, bro?

On this episode of The ColdBow Podcast, the ColdBros take a walk down memory lane while they visit their feelings on the Super Bowl Halftime Show. With the performances of #50cent, #drdre, #eminem, #maryjblidge, and #snoop they discover that Scott is a terrible person who hates a good beat. They also discover a very hot take from Chris about his feelings toward current hip hop vs 90s and early 2000s hip hop.
This walk down memory lane ends up taking a turn toward Bucklebury Ferry and on to The Inn of the Prancing Pony as the Bros discuss the upcoming Amazon Original, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Scott remains an old angry man completely set in his ways and unwilling to see reason, but some good discussion unfolds and explains some of the drama around this highly anticipated series.

Illuminations Sing franchise is surprisingly good. I know, I'm as shocked as you are! Bono plays a major character in the movie and this made Reese take a stroll down musical memory lane. And we join him...kicking and screaming.
We discuss Bono, U2, the bands blatant Christianity that has been seemingly ignored, and how people have seemingly forgot that U2 is one of the biggest rock bands of all time!

The Coldbros at the Coldbow Podcast want to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and whatever form of good cheer you subscribe to.
Troy, Reese, and Scott get together to talk Christmas movies! Specifically, what makes a good (or bad) Christmas movie? Is there a formula?
A few new Christmas movies/series have come out this year.
8-bit Christmas, a sort of modern retelling of A Christmas Story starring Neil Patrick Harris, who narrates a story that takes place in the late 1980's where Nintendo Entertainment Systems had people going crazy. 8-bit Christmas has the Coldbow stamp of approval as one of the good ones.
Santa Inc also came out this year. Santa Inc is a stop motion animated series about a female elf who wants to shake up the overly white & male Christmas corporation by being the next Santa Claus. It has plenty of adult jokes and controversy - with no critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4% audience score.
Both 8-bit Christmas and Santa Inc can be viewed on HBO Max.
