A lot of West Australia's history has made it's way around the world since ships first sailed past our coastline all those days ago.

But how we track down where everything has gone - whether that's from a ship wreck or taken from a historical site.

The State Library, WA Museum Boola Bardip and the Art Gallery have joined forces to try and catalogue where all of our history has ended up around the world as part of a project called Collecting the West.

Alastair Paterson joined us to talk all about the project and some of the more unique finds they've uncovered.
