Drew talked about how to build your own identity declarations. Which are; 1.) Read the Bible and know what God says about you. 2.) Create a list of “who I am” and “who I’m not.” 3.) Build the list into concise statements. 4.) Confirm that the statements point toward Biblical truth, not personal desire. 5.) Make the statements a prayer.

Welcome to part of the "On My Heart" Series. Today, we had Russ and Morgan preach a powerful message. Russ talked about Dressing Differently. The best way to dress differently is to dress by putting on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 13:14 "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" and to "make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires." Russ talked about three ways to dress differently; which is making space, change your focus, and be authentic. One thing that stood out to me was when Russ said to change your focus to be a "here I am" person rather than a "there you are" person.

"When you dress differently, you bless differently." - Russ.

Morgan talked about being found faithful. She brought up the story of Mosses. Here are three things we learned from the story of Mosses. God partners with those who have crazy faith to believe Him for big things. God chooses those who are faithful with little, build them big. Build whatever is in front of you. It's the faith that God admires in us. Mosses was a perfect example, for decades he was building the Arc by hand piece by piece. "God isn’t looking for gifting, He’s looking for 2 hands and a faithful spirit" - Morgan.

Enjoy our first "On My Heart" video. In this series, we will have multiple speakers preaching their tips and advice on living like Christ. Caleb talked about prayer and reading the Bible. He emphasized the importance of being consistent on reading the word, even during times when we don't feel like reading. Caleb mentioned 5 applications to help you get started as you read and study Scripture:

1. Get a Bible Study

2. Before you read, Pray

3. Read a couple verses or header to header.

4. Pray and ask for clarity and understanding with what you just read.

5. Read the footnotes and the other linked verses.

Laura talked about trauma. Sometimes, we may have experienced trauma over the years and not even realize it. Trauma is a deeply distressing experience that can have lasting negative effects on a person's mental, emotional, relational and even physical well-being. It arises from events that overwhelm an individual's ability to cope, leading to feelings of fear, helplessness, rejection, and dissociation. She mentioned that Time may numb the pain a bit, but it does not heal all wounds…Jesus does though.

Mike talked about staying on the right narrow road. Sometimes driving the right road, we come access detours. This may set us back, but we must get back up and repent. Despite our failures, God chooses us. Repentance always puts us back to a place where God can restore and use us again. Accept God’s forgiveness and move forward. Psalms 51:1-5 "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me."
