In part 2 of our current sermon series, Shane Harrington shares the Deceitfulness of Riches and explores the dual nature of wealth, revealing its deceptive allure. Biblical teachings emphasize that wealth can distract from spiritual growth, as illustrated in Matthew 13:22, where life's worries and the lure of money choke out God's message. Ultimately, true fulfillment and peace come from a relationship with God rather than material wealth, as money cannot address life’s deeper issues or provide lasting security.
Pastor PJ Noland encourages believers to focus on spiritual richness and stewardship rather than seeking satisfaction solely through material wealth.
Good News: You are rich. Wealth is a gift from God, meant to be enjoyed and used wisely (Ecclesiastes 5:19).
Bad News: You are rich. Wealth can make it harder to depend on God and can distract from important spiritual priorities (Luke 18:24-25).

Key Verses: Matthew 7:24-27
Key Thought: The only way you can begin to experience the fullness of what God has for you, is by obediently responding when you hear from Him.
In his sermon based on James 1:22-25, Pastor PJ Noland emphasizes the importance of actively applying God’s Word to experience true life change. He argues that merely reading or discussing the Bible isn't sufficient; we must become doers of the Word. Citing James, he illustrates how one who only hears the Word deceives themselves, comparing it to someone who forgets their reflection after looking in a mirror. To effectively apply Scripture, he suggests focusing on four key areas:
By incorporating these practices, we can truly embody the teachings of the Bible in our daily lives.
Listen in as Lead Pastor PJ Noland addresses why people, including yourself, may not read the Bible. Ephesians 6:11, 17 shows us that we have the power of the Bible to be a spiritual weapon against the evil one. He emphasizes the transformative power of God's Holy Spirit and Scriptures, which can lead to a fulfilling and dynamic life.
PJ walks us through the nature of the Bible; its uniqueness, its trustworthiness, the authority it holds, its power, and how sufficient it is for all our needs. God has gifted us His word through the Holy Bible. How can we worship Him this year through consistency? Ask yourself, how can I H.E.A.R God from His word consistently?
