Jesus just before the feast of booths (or tabernacle or shelters). He is the rescue that we long for and the presence we need.

The message of the cross is offensive. As a result people leave. They leave him, they will leave us. As offensive as his message is though, Jesus as a person is not offensive. Rather, he was full of love, grace, and hope. As his followers we should strive to be the same way.

Jesus invites us to partake with him in the beautiful act of loving sacrifice when he died on the cross. For us this means we get to live with him and thank him for his love, mercy, grace, and restoration.

Sometimes we focus, not on who Jesus is, but on the things he has done. All that Jesus does is an overflow of who he is. All too often we we focus on our present problem and forget that Jesus is God.
