A Kent County native and KCHS Class of 2013 member, Haleigh talks about working and living in the community that raised her and that she loves.
At KCHS, Haleigh pursued the Ag CTE Program (CASE), then went to Chesapeake for a liberal arts degree and Salisbury University's satellite program for a social work degree. Her journey included working in human resources, working with USDA, and now Horizon Farm Credit.
From the classroom to the district office, Amelia Markosian has held several roles with Kent County Public Schools.
Currently, she is the Coordinator of Accountability and Instruction: Science, STEM, Gifted and Talented, Local Accountability Coordinator, and Service Learning Coordinator.
With a strong passion for art (including teaching arts & crafts at a summer camp) she started by navigating the art school admissions process, then Amelia found herself instead pursuing a liberal arts college. She was able to pursue environmental studies, the sciences, art, and education.
