Jesus is unveiled in a new, dramatic way throughout the book.  He is described very uniquely throughout the letters to each church. Revelation paints a different picture of Jesus than the Gospels do.  It is a very dramatic picture of His Kingship over the church and the universe.

My Perspective as a Forgiver—“dearly loved by God” (3:12a)

My Character as a Forgiver—“clothe yourselves with compassion, etc” (3:12b)

My Task as a Forgiver—“bear with each other and forgive” (3:13)

My Goals as a Forgiver—“perfect unity, peace” (3:14-15)

"How the Gospel Rewires Relationships"

Paul appeals to Philemon to receive Onesimus back and to forgive him. He did this to enable Onesimus to fulfill his obligations to Philemon and to encourage Philemon to benefit from Onesimus’ conversion rather than to be stumbled by it.

Paul commends Philemon for showing compassion to other believers. You have the power to touch the hearts of other people and fill them with thanksgiving. 

 

"Laboring in the Harvest" (Matthew 9:35-38) - To be a disciple is to be involved in the harvest.  Jesus is saying, "We need more disciples" and not, "Ask God to call some of our number to go to the harvest."  We need to ask the question, "What does this mean for me?"
