College Avenue Baptist Church - San Diego (Sermons)

The Benefits of Generosity

Generous living advances the cause of Christ and produces a bounty of spiritual fruit.

Generosity is at the heart of Christmas because generosity is at the very core of God’s character. God is open-handed in a tight-fisted world.  So He generously lavishes gifts upon His people.  When we see God’s generosity, we realize that our lives are not our own, and we respond with generosity by giving ourselves away.

The Partially-Wrapped Gift

Now is the time to voluntarily complete what you have started.

Generosity is at the heart of Christmas because generosity is at the very core of God’s character. God’s indescribable gift of generosity is in the person of His Son.

Generosity and joy are not connected to our circumstances.

Pastor of Soul Care Bryce Klabunde will challenge us to consider: Joy’s Response to Tough Times (Phil. 1:12-14), Joy’s Response to Difficult People (Phil. 1:15-18), and Joy’s Response to Physical Hardship (Phil. 1:19-26). [There is no RE:collect for this sermon.]

Pastor of Soul Care Bryce Klabunde seeks to answer this question by considering: the Fear of Loss (John 11:1-6), the Heartache of Loss (John 11:17-32), the Comfort in Loss (John 11:33-37), and the Hope through Loss (John 11:38-44). [There is no RE:collect for this sermon.]

Imagine Jesus writing a letter to CABC. What would Jesus affirm in us?  What would Jesus rebuke? How would Jesus encourage us?  [There is no RE:collect for this sermon.]

This sermon series is an encouragement for our church to rekindle our romance with Jesus and persevere in the midst of evil because of Who Jesus Christ is, His intimate relationship with us, and His promise of blessing for our endurance.

Philadelphia: The Enduring Church

Jesus is more interested in our faithfulness than in our success.
