Today, we embark on a seven part sermon series entitled, "Person of Interest". This series is based on the book by J. Warner Wallace entitled, "Person of Interest: Why Jesus still matters in a world that rejects the Bible” Today, we begin answering the question that J Warner Wallace asked in his book, "Why did Jesus come when He did? Why didn't He come earlier or even later?" There is plenty of evidence to demonstrate that there was divine preparation taking place before the birth of Jesus Christ. 

God speaks to his people in Leviticus chapter 20 and verse 8 and identifies that it is HE who makes His people holy. Today's message is a reminder of how God perfects His people. If it is true that God is HE who makes us Holy, what is our role scripturally, and more specifically what is God's role. We also address what to do when our past practices and deeds guilt us and bring condemnation upon us.  

Today, we examine Paul's teaching about Works vs Grace in Romans chapter 4. Paul speaks of how people come to saving faith. Paul points to Abraham and to David and then finally to himself in an explanation of righteousness, acceptance and salvation. This is important as we will discover that in a religious system based on works, everything is based on the sinner to prove their goodness. Whereas, a system based on God's grace is dependent on the Savior. We learn what it means to live by faith and the grace THAT GOD, supplies. 

Today, we examine the moment that sin entered the human race. We can notice the tactics used by the enemy of our souls. These tactics can be clearly seen, and because of that we can counter them. These three strategies are effective, so effective that the devil continues to use them. In this message we discover what they are and how to combat them.

As humans we have the great privilege according to the Bible of being created in the image of God. That in and of itself is amazing enough, but we also have the promise of living for eternity if we except the free gift of God. Salvation and redemption add even more context for how blessed we are as followers of the Lord's. Today, we look at a great miracle and how its ramifications are still paying off dividends for those of us who believe. 

Today, Evangelist Jayme Montera brings a special message to our congregation. There are times where it is all to easy to get comfortable living for the Lord. Comfort brings a relaxation that can lead us to let down our guard. There are moments when God would like us to stay alert for we do not know when the Lord is coming for us. Jayme challenges us to be prepared and always have a fresh supply of oil on hand. A fresh moment, a fresh experience and a fresh viewpoint of God's grace. 

One of the hardest teachings for us to hear from the Lord is about the subject of Hell. Not because we don't understand it, but rather we don't want to think about it. Jesus spoke more about Hell than any other writer. The most information about hell is found in the four gospels. So, what do we need to know about this place from the Lord's perspective? 

Today, we examine the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:48, when He set the New Testament standard for how His followers should follow God. Jesus said, we are to, "...be perfect even as our heavenly father is perfect."  Does God require perfection from us? How can we be perfect in an imperfect world? How do we reconcile what appears to be a contrary statement?  Pastor Wade discusses these questions along with many others in today's teaching.

Jesus spoke to a man who for 38 years had been waiting to be healed. The man was asked if he would like to be healed...but all he gave Jesus was excuses why he couldn't get to where he needed to go to be healed. Associate Youth Pastor Taylor Murphy asks the question, "Do You Want this?" How many excuses do you offer the Lord for why you cannot change, why you cannot be delivered out of terrible circumstances and why you cannot receive forgiveness, deliverance, and wholeness in your life.
