Today, we look at the fourth beatitude. A very unique and unusual thing takes place in the original Greek language of Matthew chapter 5 and verse 6. What we discover changes our perspective and points us back to Jesus. If we get to the point that we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we are promised to be filled. It is that righteousness that matters more than all our actions, misdeeds and trouble. To find righteousness itself is quite a treasure.

Today, Pastor Taylor Murphy defines who are the meek. He also describes what it looks like to be meek. The Lord teaching on the Beatitudes, describes the upside down way of the Kingdom of God. To be great in the Kingdom of God, one must be the least. This is the antithesis of how we have come to understood how this world works. However, as the Lord gave proof of what meekness looks like, He went to the cross and laid down His life. Sitting now, at the right hand of God the Father.

The comfort that God provided to Hannah, Samuel, and David is not confined to their time. It remains available today for all who seek it. In moments of mourning—whether for spiritual needs or personal sorrows—God’s perfect comfort meets us, sustaining us through every circumstance.

Today, we begin a new sermon series on the Beatitudes. When we consider the Beatitudes the very first one becomes the foundation stone that all other beatitudes will be laid upon. The first four instruct us how to come to the Kingdom of Heaven and also how to be a Christian. The last four instructs us on how to do this Christian life. Today, is the foundation; being poor in spirit.

David Martyn Lloyd-Jones wrote, "The secret of success is to think and to understand." Today, we examine Abraham's servant who is sent by his master to search for a wife for his son. In the process we watch as Eliezer chooses certain actions and makes decisions that brought him success. Eliezer was looking for a bride for Abraham's son. If God helped Abraham's servant, wouldn't He also help you in your quest for success? 

Our final installment on our series on the seven letters to the seven churches, we look at the church who was NOT hot or cold, but rather as Jesus described them, "Lukewarm." Why is this such a big deal? Why did the Lord wish they would be either hot or cold? Finally, we will summarize what the Lord wanted to accomplish by sending these letters to the seven churches.  

Today, we examine a significant moment in David's life. During this period, David faced great difficulties that tested his character and faith. As David reflected, his thoughts are captured in Psalms 34:1-10. In these verses, we discover what David determined, what he recalled from his experiences, and what he ultimately came to understand about himself and God's faithfulness.

As we examine the seven letters addressed to the seven churches, we arrive at the message directed to the church at Philadelphia. This church stands out among the others, as it is the only one that does not receive any correction from the Lord. One of the most remarkable statements in this passage is when the Lord declares, "I have opened a door that no one can shut." This powerful assurance signifies a unique opportunity and protection offered to the believers in Philadelphia. The absence of rebuke, coupled with this promise, highlights the special favor and encouragement provided to this church.

Today, as we continue our series on the Lord's seven letters to the seven churches, we are more than halfway through these seven letter as we come to Sardis. Earlier the first churches all dealt with false teaching, paganism and idolatry. Today, we are looking at a church that Jesus corrects because they have fallen asleep. Jesus tells them they need to wake up. What is repentance? Why is it important, and why does the Lord bring it up in every letter that we have considered so far?

There is a lot of pressure to become culturally relevant, to be sensitive to different life styles that are not necessarily agreeable with a Biblical Worldview. Today, we look at the church at Thyatira and the issue from a woman who claimed to be a prophetess. There are times when intolerance can be a virtue and necessary. It is important to realize how long suffering God is with us and why HE is this way. Lastly, we discover what happens when we fail to stop and evaluate our walk with the Lord.
