College Football Playoff talk with the BallHawgs!

The first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff bracket is set, and the BallHawgs—Conner, Aidan, and Alex—joined hostRichard on the Frugalocity podcast to break down every explosive detail !

Blending sharp analysis with playful banter, the episode dives deep into the top seeds, potential upsets, andquarterfinal projections for the new format

Segment 1: The Top Four Byes

The hosts dissected the top four teams who earned a first-round bye: (1) Indiana, (2) Ohio State, (3) Georgia, and (4)Texas Tech.

  • Conner argued that Georgia deserved the No. 2 spot over Ohio State, citing the Bulldogs' "definitive and dominant" win over Alabama. He also suggested Texas Tech at No. 4 was the "MaHOMIES MONEY EFFECT".Aidan contended that Georgia might be the "most dangerous team" in the playoff, noting the way the SEC champion finished the season. Of course, being named the number three seemed like a slight but the draw against Ole Miss or Tulane (who are distracted by coaching drama) might actually be a positivedevelopment.
  • Alex pointed out that the committee likely rewarded Indiana for their 13-0 record and highlighted the inclusion of two Big Ten Teams in the byes shows how dominant the league was this year. Of course, Conner and Aidan countered that the depth of the SEC undermines that argument as only Indiana and Ohio State were solid in the Big Ten so how impressive were their wins?

Segment 2: First Round Knockouts

The discussion moved to the first-roundmatchups:No. 12 JMU versus Oregon

No. 11 Tulane at No. 6 Ole MissNo. 10 Miami at No. 7 Texas A&M

No.9 Alabama at No. 8 Oklahoma

With the Hawgs pointing to the Miama/A&M matchup and Alabama/Oklahoma being ones of intense competition with winners/losers being of significant interest.

Listen in to find out what the Hawgs said.

Segment 3: Quarterfinal Projections

Next the Hawgs gave their predictions thatlead to the Final Four prediction with all three leaning towards: (Indiana/UGA/Ohio State/ and Oregon).

However, things to watch were:

Oklahoma more than likely playing superiordefense against Indiana even though Indiana and Alabama’s defense has been stellar this season. However, Indiana seems to be a team of destiny this year.

Conclusion:

Richard thanked the BallHawgs for breaking down the first-ever 12-team CFP bracket. Listeners were encouraged to follow the Frugalocity podcast.
