The purpose of the TMCC Institutional Advisory Council is to ensure the linkage of the College to the community it serves and to anticipate future regional trends. The Council will meet at least quarterly to advise the College President, the Vice Chancellor for Community Colleges, the Chancellor and the Board of Regents Standing Committee on Community Colleges on questions regarding operation of the College. The Council shall function and exercise the powers set for by the Nevada Board of Regents.

Student veterans from Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas carried nearly 7,000 dog tags of service members who have died in the fight against terror 370 miles across Nevada. They began at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Las Vegas and arrived at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Memorial Day.

Humberto was able to touch thousands of lives in a positive way during his nearly three decades career at TMCC. He is also a great proponent of lifelong learning.

Truckee Meadows Community College is the first Purple Heart College in Nevada. Members of the Veterans Resource Center and Truckee Meadows Veterans Club were able to secure a parking spot designated solely to combat wounded veterans.

Biology Instructor Jonathan Reddick Lau and the TMCC Diversity Committee planted a Scarlet Hawthorn tree in the TMCC plaza to symbolize the diversity of life at Truckee Meadows Community College.

A new TMCC Hospitality and Tourism Management associate degree begins in Fall 2018! This exciting new degree program will help students enter the field, or better enable those in the region already in the industry to gain the tools for advancement in this growing field!
