Two area women’s basketball players are participating at the junior varsity level in college. Ana Veldkamp, a former standout at Southwest Minnesota Christian, is playing both JV women’s basketball and softball at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Defenders are 11-3 on the season, including a 95-65 thrashing of Briar Cliff at DeWitt Gymnasium on Thursday, Jan. 23. They will play at Morningside in Sioux City on Thursday.
