Established in 1929 the university offers more than 200 distance learning courses in disciplines like science, computer application, commerce, hotel management , yoga, music, retail management and many others. The college is located in Tamil nadu and has all the approvals and recognition like UGC-DEB and is also NAAC accredited which means that any certificate provided from here is a valid one.

The University provides Bachelors courses like Bachelors in science with various specializations one of them that stood out for me was B.sc in Visual Communication which is not provided by lot of universities then BA, they also have LLB of 3 years as well as LLB for 2 years and also bachelors of business law for people who want to get into lawyership. It also has a BA in Tamil option due to its geographical region. Coming to the masters they have M.Sc., MA courses MA in linguistics is one of the specializations it offers and of course it has various specializations for MBA too. For specialization in MBA it has human resource management, marketing management, financial management, hospital management, master in social work and also master in rural studies.

With these general courses it also provides different certificate programs, Super Speciality programs in DM-doctor of medicine and Mch- Master of Chirurgiae. It also has PHD programs, advanced pg diploma programs, fellowship programs and even short term courses.

The online MBA courses offered here are generally of 2 years with an average fee of 60,000 approximately. All it’s online and distance learning courses are prepared in a way that any working professional can opt for it easily.

Speaking of the placement cell the university claims to have 94% placement every year, with top recruiters coming for placements in their campus like deloitte, pwc, ongc, amazon, royal enfield, HSBC & IBM to name a few. Symbiosis Online has courses divided into hourly programs and monthly programs. The hourly programs have courses like Social media marketing tools, Financial management, Google suite for educators, counseling techniques, Hr practices, HR Development and training, Human resource management, Insights into share trading, instructional design, research methodology and statistical quantitative methods and work life balance courses. The average duration of these courses are minimum of 2 hours to maximum of 12 hours whereas the fees structure also varies between rs 500 to 2500 on an average for all these hourly courses. For the monthly program the symbiosis online website only has one certificate course in Buddha's Teachings & Vipassana. It's a very unique program provided by this online university and costs only 2000 rupees for the three month course.

Today accessibility to education has become  much easier than it was before. This makes diploma & certificate programs more and more popular. Coming to the symbiosis center for distance learning, the university provides various PG diploma programs , PG certificate programs and also short diploma and certificate courses with the facility of flexible exam timings.

It offers many courses in BA, B.com, BBA, M.A, M.com, MBA, mba in rural management, MBA in information technology management, MBa in dual specializations is also available, then  they also have MBA in hospitality, MBA in operations, MBA in hospital administration management, MBA in International business management, mba in project management, MBA in finance, MBA in human resource management, mba in supply chain, M.tech for working professionals, m.tech in weekend, B Tech Lateral entry, b.tech computer science and the list goes on.
