Topics include: The Wildcats offense had it all--power with Ryan Waldschmidt and Ryan Nicholson, base-stealing prowess with Emilien Pitre, Devin Burkes and Waldschmidt, and general balance throughout the lineup. Kentucky’s pitching was at its best in the NCAA tournament, with Mason Moore getting on track, Cameron O’Brien dominating out of the bullpen and Trey Pooser being his usual consistent self. But Elliott Avent’s North Carolina State team will present a stiff challenge. The Wolfpack have power with Alec Makarewicz, Garrett Pennington and Jacob Mozart as well as base-stealing prowess in Brandon Butterworth and Luke Nixon. NC State’s top-end pitching carried it into Omaha, with Jacob Dudan, Sam Highfill and Dominic Britton helping get the 'Pack this far. All that, and a prediction of how far Kentucky will go.
