If you are a Jesus follower…if you are a Christian…you are part of the Body of Christ. Christianity is not a solo sport…we follow Jesus together, in community, as Paul so beautifully articulates in Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12. Just as soon as you enter into a community of believers…be it a house church, a small congregation out in the rural areas, or a large suburban church like Colonial, everything we talked about here becomes VERY important.

We are to trust God, live as people who are free, conduct ourselves honorably, love our brothers, and honor whoever sits in the chair on Capitol Hill. That is our duty as Jesus followers. That is our role as sojourners and exiles.

As the community of the redeemed, we live in this country, and every country...in every tribe, tongue and nation...as exiles and sojourners. Our true country is not this land...for our citizenship is in the Kingdom of God, and as Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.”
