The Amazon bid is in, but do we even want to win?
Did you catch our trivia question? Be the first to reply to [email protected] with the right answer and get any $25 item from the Colorado = Security store.
Colorado has submitted their bid for Amazon HQ2 but does Colorado even want it? Some locals are concerned about rising housing costs and additional congestion. The City of Denver won a Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award based on their collaborative work on the integrity of the 2016 election in conjunction the Colorado Secretary of State and Homeland Security. The CEO of CenturyLink plans to stay in Colorado. We also have announcements about a new threat research site from Protectwise, LogRhythm embracing AI, and RedCanary releasing a testing framework for defenders.

No, women are NOT well represented in leadership
Did you catch our trivia question? Be the first to reply to [email protected] with the right answer and get any $25 item from the Colorado = Security store.
Survey shows that 63% of men are bad at math... at least when it comes to evaluating women in the executive suite. Secure64 founder tells us that little DNS issues can cause big headaches. Forrester has a crush on Optiv. LogRhythm makes a splash. And a couple of security leaders land in new companies.

Yes Amazon, we REALLY want HQ2
Did you catch our trivia question? Be the first to reply with the right answer and get any <$25 item from the Colorado = Security store.
AOL Instant Messaging came out at the perfect time to be a huge part of my college and young adult life. If I had used it in the last decade I would definitely miss it leaving us. Also, aren't you supposed to play a LITTLE hard to get? Colorado legislators are not holding back telling Bezos that they want HQ2. ChannelAdvisor didn't get the red carpet, but they're coming to town anyway. Colorado accountants are building bots and collecting big data. Colorado makes the map of well funded security company hubs. Englewood's computers get pwned. One CEO is out and a new one is in at Secure64. Convercent has their big conference, and things are good for ethics companies in 2017. And Ping Identity speaks up about what makes for an effective CISO (hint- it's not about the undergraduate degree).

  • 33 - 9/18 - Andy Grolnick, CEO of LogRhythm
In this episode: Andy Grolnick, CEO of LogRhythm, is our feature guest this week. News from: Oracle, Red Canary, Denver Startup Week, LogRhythm, ManagedMethods, Secure64 and more! Full show notes: https://www.colorado-security.com/news/2017/9/16/33-918-show-notes
Sure it'll only take 14 minutes to get from Denver to Pueblo, but will the wifi work?
This could bring a whole new meaning to "tubing in the rockies." Oracle is laying off a lot of people, as they shift to a cloud focus, Red Canary makes a list of growing CO companies, Colorado = Security is taking over Denver Startup Week, LogRhythm integrates with Cisco, and some thought leadership pieces by ManagedMethods, and Secure64. And probably a little chatting about that Equifax thing too, while we're at it.
