This week's topic was inspired by the most current movie being called out for colorism, The Harder They Fall, because the light-skinned, mixed-race actress Zazie Beetz was cast to play Stagecoach Mary (Mary Fields), a very dark-skinned woman who was the first woman to deliver U.S. mail. The more I learn about Mary Fields, the more obvious it becomes that the colorism in The Harder They Fall is blatant disrespect of this woman's legacy. This portrayal is betrayal.
