Beautiful humans of the universe! Welcome back to the second episode of Colorlines Podcast. Here we talk about what really matters. It’s a form of expression, a way to have a voice, be free, be weird and love yourself. On today’s podcast, we paid respects to Kobe Bryant and Gigi, alongside some interesting facts that might help the police tie clues together on what went down in the helicopter crash. Not to mention parenting and BIG A. ABORTION.
Tragedy struck millions of hearts in Calabasas, CA, and all over the world when we learned that on January, 26th, 2020 Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi alongside seven other people crashed and passed away in a helicopter. Death isn’t easy for anyone, especially with someone as famous as Kobe. Kobe Bean Bryant was born on August, 23rd, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He knew right from the beginning he was meant to play in the NBA. The Charlotte Hornets chose him with the 13th pick of the 1996 draft. He was traded to the Lakers shortly thereafter and became the second youngest NBA player in history when the 1996–97 season opened. He quickly proved his merit with the Lakers and was selected for the NBA All-Star Game in just his second season, becoming the youngest All-Star.
It’s a tragedy that we lost a legend to the stars, but gain respect for the craft. Kobe and Gigi will be missed dearly. Feel free to check out a video tribute to Kobe and his daughter Gigi at the end of this podcast.
The next topic we touched base on was parenting and whether or not to take responsibilities. More on the thin lines between being a parent to your child, or being friends with your child. In my opinion; I feel being friends with your children is unethical and confusing to some extent. It’s alright to build that bond and trust with your child, but to take it to a whole other level is where I draw the line. The lines get blurred when it comes to taking care of responsibilities. When bringing a child or children into the world, it’s a huge step. Some may not be ready to be parents because they’re not ready for that milestone.
Realizing when you’re ready; there’s a lot that comes into play when making a decision so huge. For example; abortion. Now, some don’t have the opportunity to keep or take care of their child if they become pregnant and some don’t seem to care at all and are completely selfish and wanting to abort their baby. I’m on the fence about abortions, not to say I’m for it nor am I against it. I understand that with all females it’s THEIR CHOICE because it’s THEIR BODY, but in other words, it’s still life being taken away. I’ll touch more on the topic next week, so stay tuned.
