Theme: Folks coming to know Jesus in theses days need to be taught God's ways

-discipleship is key in this current move of God

This week:

 

Text: Acts 11:22-24

 

Theme: Critical mass is when something is at a point where it could be sent in one direction or the other

-the church in our text was at critical mass with this Gentle harvest

-it could go one way or the other

-how it was handled could make or break this move of God

-Barnabas played it perfectly

This week:

 

Text: Acts 11:19-21

 

Theme: As the believers moved out, north and west from Jerusalem, they preached the word wherever they went.

-at first they limited it to Jews

-then some finally understood and began telling Gentiles

-the result was a great harvest of Gentile souls for Christ

-the application is the same as last week...the harvest is at the door...will we believe...

-we will end the message with a song by the band, then Justin will lead us in a corporate time of prayer after which we may go back into worship[...we will play the ending by ear...

Text: Acts 11:1-18

 

Theme: In these verses Luke completes the account of Cornelius and his household coming to Christ with what happens next to Peter

-Peter returns to Jerusalem and rather than finding a church rejoicing over Cornelius salvation 

-he finds criticism, doubting, contention, suspicion

 

The application for us...the harvest will be a challenge

-Holy Spirit is going to bring folks to Christ and CCF who look, think and act differently than we do

-before Peter could even finish speaking Cornelius and his house-hold believed and the Holy Spirit fell upon them as evidence of salvation
