This Sunday, I will preach the first of two messages on Psalm 16. We will look at the greater biblical context behind this Psalm. How was the sixteenth Psalm informed by divine revelation given by the prophets up to that point in history? How does the New Testament use Psalm 16? It is my prayer that as God confronts us with his truth in Psalm 16, we become more like the Son of God, the greater son of David.

The sermon this Sunday comes from Psalm 15. David’s opening questions are most important: O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? Given the stakes, we will pay close attention to the Spirit’s inspired answer. The answer shows God’s exacting and holy standard and the premium he places on the actual life we live. The people who have fellowship with God, by the grace of Christ, put a premium on virtuous fellowship with others.

This Sunday Pastor's message is on Psalm 14. This Psalm begins with a kind of practical atheism, a life lived while denying that God will judge us for our actions. As the Psalm makes clear, “practical atheism” is found in every human being. While Psalm 14 is true and vivid description of the universal plight of humanity, its biblical indictment of our race should drive us to the mercy seat of God and ground our hope in Christ’s kingdom.

For all believers who have felt the long burdens of affliction, Psalm 13 is for them.

This Sunday morning, Pastor Martin looks at Jesus’s travels to Galilee and the healing the official’s son in John 4:43-54. This is “The Second Sign” Jesus did in Galilee. We see again the importance of faith in Jesus as the Christ. As we saw with the Samaritans, this faith is borne and cultivated by the word of our Savior.
