By the end of 1 Samuel 12, God Himself steps in and confirms that the people had done a great wickedness in asking for a king. God validates and affirms Samuel's words, prophecy and ministry by thunder and rain and the people acknowledge that what they had done was wrong. As they begin to panic, Samuel encourages them to repent, to humble themselves and to seek and serve the Lord with a faithful heart from here on out. We are to be lights that shine the light of Jesus in the midst of a dark and dying world.
