Not-So-Crazy: We swear on a lot of different things. When we need to bring some weight and validity to our story or our promise, we’ll put it on something (or someone) higher than ourselves. And somehow, that usually makes the promise believable. It becomes rational for the one being promised-to to believe it. So what do we do when God swears an oath to himself? We should probably believe it. Easter Sunday was that kind of promise.
