This week I share a personal experience surrounding the Forrest Frank concert, worshipping with thousands of Christians, and a late-night prayer for my son that reminded me of God's awareness and love.

As I studied this lesson, I couldn't stop thinking about Forrest Frank's song:

"Somebody Prayed"

Because every chapter felt like another reminder that miracles often begin with prayer.

Maybe you're where you are today because somebody prayed.

Maybe your children are being blessed because somebody prayed.

And maybe that somebody is you.

If you're carrying something heavy right now, let Jehoshaphat's prayer become your prayer:

"Lord, I don't know what to do...

but my eyes are upon Thee."

And remember:

**The battle is not yours.

It is God's.**

Maybe years from now you'll look back and realize that the miracle started the moment...

Welcome back to another episode of Come, Follow Me Moms!

This week we're studying 2 Kings 16–25, and while these chapters contain kings, prophets, wars, captivity, and the destruction of Jerusalem, one message stood out above all the rest:

Have you ever gone through a season where you didn't feel close to God?

You still believe.

You still love Him.

But you feel spiritually tired.

Maybe you've missed prayers.

Maybe Come, Follow Me feels overwhelming.

Maybe life has been so busy you've been surviving instead of thriving.

If that's you, this episode is for you.

We begin with the fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. The people break their covenants, turn to idols, reject prophets, and eventually experience the scattering of Israel.

We discuss:

Key Thought: When people become spiritually lost, God doesn't stop loving them. He keeps calling them home.

King Hezekiah was one of the righteous kings of Judah.

When the Assyrian army surrounded Jerusalem, the people were terrified. The enemy attacked their faith first, trying to convince them that God could not save them.

Instead of giving in to fear, Hezekiah turned to the Lord.

He prayed.

He sought counsel from Isaiah.

He laid his fears before God.

And God answered.

We discuss:

Question for Moms:

What letter are you carrying today?

Like Hezekiah, we can lay it before the Lord.

One of the most powerful verses this week comes from 2 Kings 19.

God tells Hezekiah:

"That which thou hast prayed to me... I have heard."

What a beautiful reminder for mothers.

God hears:

He hears you.

After several wicked kings, Josiah becomes king at only eight years old.

While repairing the temple, the people discover the Book of the Law.

When Josiah hears the scriptures, everything changes.

His story isn't just about finding a book.

It's about finding God again.

We discuss:

President Spencer W. Kimball called Josiah's story one of the finest stories in all of scripture.

Relationships aren't built through giant moments.

They're built through:

The same is true with God.

Question to Ponder:

What if you're only one scripture away from feeling closer to God?

Not an hour-long study session.

Not perfection.

Just opening the book again.

One of the strongest themes in these chapters is repentance.

Sometimes it's easy to look at ancient Israel and think:

"How could they do that?"

But if we're honest, we all need repentance.

Maybe we:

Repentance isn't proof that we're failing.

Repentance is Christ's invitation to come home.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Repentance is not punishment.

Repentance is healing.

Repentance is hope.

Repentance is coming home.

One of the most fascinating parts of this week's study is realizing where we are in history.

At the end of 2 Kings:

And then...

The Book of Mormon begins.

Lehi is living in Jerusalem during these events.

While prophets are warning the people, Lehi is called to leave.

Laman and Lemuel complain in the wilderness, saying:

"We might have been happy."

But they didn't understand what was coming.

Jerusalem would soon be destroyed exactly as the prophets foretold.

God's warnings are not meant to restrict us.

They are meant to protect us.

We spend time discussing Elder Holland's powerful General Conference message:

Fear Not: Believe Only

In a world filled with fear, uncertainty, anxiety, and discouragement, Elder Holland reminds us to:

His message is one of hope.

Toward the end of his talk, Elder Holland speaks directly to those struggling with depression, despair, or thoughts of suicide.

This message is deeply personal to our family and to many families.

If that's you today:

Please stay.

Please talk to someone.

Please ask for help.

You are loved.

You are needed.

Your story is not over.

Your family needs you.

We need you.

God needs you.

Fear not.

Believe only.

This week's lesson begins with scattering.

But it ends with gathering.

Many were scattered.

Many felt lost.

Many wandered.

Yet Jesus Christ continues to say:

"Come Home."

President Russell M. Nelson has taught that the gathering of Israel is the most important work taking place on the earth today.

And moms are part of that work.

Every:

helps gather Israel.

This week, if you've felt far from God, don't focus on becoming perfect.

Just come home.

Open your scriptures.

Say a prayer.

Take your letter to the Lord.

Lay your burdens at His feet.

And let Him gather your heart back to Him.

Take a few quiet moments this week and ask yourself:

❤️ Where am I standing between two opinions?

❤️ Where am I trusting fear more than God?

❤️ What is competing for my trust and attention?

❤️ What would it look like to choose Christ more intentionally this week?

Not perfectly.

Not flawlessly.

Just intentionally.

Because if the Lord be God...

Follow Him.

The scriptures are full of imperfect people whom God used to accomplish extraordinary things.

The widow wasn't perfect.

Elijah wasn't perfect.

The people of Israel weren't perfect.

And neither are we.

God knows that.

He works with imperfect people every single day.

The question isn't whether you're perfect.

The question is:

Which way are you facing?

What small choices are drawing us closer to Christ?

What small choices are pulling us away?

Not in a shame-filled way—but in an awareness way.

One of the highlights of this week's study is Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's talk:

"Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually"

Satan often convinces good women that commandments and covenants are evidence that they are failing.

But Christ never intended the gospel to be a source of self-condemnation.

The Atonement was created for imperfect people who are trying.

And that includes every mom listening.

When God asked Solomon:

"Ask what I shall give thee"

Solomon didn't ask for riches, power, or an easier life.

He asked for:

"An understanding heart."

What a beautiful prayer for mothers.

Motherhood isn't a problem to solve.

It's a relationship to navigate.

The temple isn't just about a building.

It's about God's promise:

"I will dwell among my people."

God wants to dwell in our homes.

In our marriages.

In our motherhood.

In our everyday lives.

The temple reminds us to make room for Him.

Solomon didn't lose his testimony overnight.

His heart slowly turned toward other things.

The same can happen to us.

Not because we stop believing.

But because our hearts become divided.

Between:

The question isn't:

Do I love God?

The question is:

Is He still first?

Instead of trying harder or doing more, ask yourself:

✨ What am I building?

✨ What is winning my heart?

✨ What small thing can I do this week to make a little more room for Jesus in my home?

Maybe it's:

Because hearts don't drift overnight.

And they don't return overnight either.

They return one small choice at a time.

Hey mamas!

This week we're diving into the life of David—and while we often focus on David and Goliath, I discovered something powerful during my study:

Goliath wasn't David's biggest battle.

David faced giants, betrayal, jealousy, waiting, heartbreak, anger, uncertainty, and years of not knowing how his story would unfold. Yet through every chapter, David continued to trust God.

And honestly, that's exactly what motherhood feels like sometimes.

Whatever giant you are facing, remember:

"I come to thee in the name of the Lord." (1 Samuel 17:45)

David teaches us that faith is not believing the giant isn't real.

Faith is believing that God is bigger.

The battle isn't yours to carry alone.

David trusted God through Goliath.

David trusted God through Saul.

David trusted God through waiting.

David trusted God through uncertainty.

And God never left his side.

The same is true for you.

Take one battle, one burden, one giant you're carrying and place it before the Lord.

Pray specifically.

Invite Him into the struggle.

Ask Him to help you see your circumstances through His eyes.

Then take the next faithful step forward and trust Him with the outcome.

Maybe your giant isn't standing in a valley holding a spear.

Maybe it's anxiety.

Maybe it's depression.

Maybe it's uncertainty.

Maybe it's a relationship that needs healing.

Maybe it's a child you're praying for.

Maybe it's a chapter you never would have chosen.

But David's story reminds us:

The giant isn't the end.

The waiting isn't the end.

The heartbreak isn't the end.

God is still writing.

Let Him author your story.

Let Him fight your battles.

Let Him bring beauty from your ashes.

Because the same God who led David through giants, Saul, Abigail, and finally to the throne is leading you too.

Hey mamas!

This week we dive into one of the most powerful transitions in the Old Testament as Israel moves from judges to kings. We meet Saul, watch him rise, watch him fall, and then meet a young shepherd named David.

At the center of these chapters is a question that still matters today:

Who is sitting on the throne of your heart?

Israel wanted a king, even though they already had God leading them. Saul was looking for lost donkeys when God was preparing a kingdom. David was overlooked by everyone except the Lord.

This week we talk about:

✨ Why Israel demanded a king and what that teaches us about modern distractions and misplaced priorities

✨ Saul's search for lost donkeys and how God often works through ordinary errands, ordinary days, and ordinary people

✨ What it means that God gave Saul "another heart"

"Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

✨ How to see ourselves, our children, and others the way Jesus sees them

✨ The importance of reaching out when someone comes to mind and following spiritual promptings to encourage others

Anything that takes God's place can become our king.

God often uses ordinary moments to accomplish extraordinary purposes.

We are always obeying something—the question is who or what.

God is more interested in changing our hearts than changing our circumstances.

The Lord sees potential where others see limitations.

You may feel overlooked by people, but you are never overlooked by God.

Who is my king?

Open my eyes.

What am I doing that I should stop doing?

This week our family is making simple prayer jars!

Write prayer prompts on slips of paper and place them in a jar to keep by your bed. Pull one out each day and pray for:

Someone who is struggling

Guidance

Peace

Gratitude

The Spirit

Forgiveness

A simple reminder that we can take everything to our Heavenly Father.

Overlooked.

Keep showing up.

Keep praying.

Keep serving.

Keep trusting.

Because the same God who saw a king inside a shepherd boy sees something beautiful inside of you.

The world saw a shepherd.

God saw a king.

The world saw Saul's height.

God saw David's heart.

The world sees labels.

God sees His children.

So this week, stop asking:

"What do people see when they look at me?"

And start asking:

"What does God see?"

Because His view is the one that matters most. ❤️

Welcome back to Come, Follow Me Moms! This week we are studying the beautiful stories found in the book of Ruth and 1 Samuel 1–7. We meet three incredible women—Naomi, Ruth, and Hannah—and a little boy named Samuel. Each of them teaches us something powerful about faith, trust, courage, and waiting on the Lord.

One theme kept standing out to me all week:

God works in the waiting.

Naomi waited through grief.

And yet God was working in every one of their stories.

Isn't that what motherhood often feels like?

Waiting. Praying. Hoping. Trusting.

Waiting for healing.

Waiting for a miracle.

This week's scriptures remind us that God is often doing His greatest work while we wait.

The same God who provided for Ruth.

The same God who restored Naomi.

The same God who heard Hannah's prayers.

The same God who spoke to Samuel.

Sees you.

Your story isn't over.

Keep gathering oil.

Keep trusting.

Keep praying.

Keep abiding in Christ.

One day you'll look back and see what Ruth, Naomi, Hannah, and Samuel eventually discovered:

He was there the whole time. ❤️
