Hunter signed up for the Ute 100 with a "one and done" intention. He just wanted to prove to himself that he could do it. He had no idea what he got himself into. Listen to this episode to be transported into Hunter's puke filled shoes and hear how he suffered through sickness, injury, and utter fatigue to finish his first 100 mile race DFL (dead freaking last) and to hear how this journey changed him for the better.
Episode Takeaways:
-You will have experiences you typically wouldn't have if you sign up for ultras
-Get comfortable being uncomfortable
-Train like it's race day
-You're a champion no matter where you finish in your race
-Let yourself feel what you feel during an ultra
-Get a good crew/support system
-BE A MAN
-PAY FOR THE RACE
Hunter's Advice:
-Just do it, stop thinking about it
-You don't need all of the answers to sign up for your first ultra
-Listen to podcasts to learn all you can
-Remember...you'll figure it out and you'll be okay
