  • Do Not Fear: Finding God's Peace in Uncertainty

What if you could find peace in the middle of your greatest fear—even when you don't know how the story will end?

When my husband was dying in the hospital, I spent fifteen hours praying for his life. I desperately hoped he would recover, but I was also struggling against the terrible fear that he wouldn't.

Something extraordinary happened that night. And although my husband miraculously recovered, the miracle I most want to share with you isn't his recovery.

It's the peace I discovered in the space between hope and fear.

In this episode of Come Sit With Me, I share that deeply personal experience alongside one of the most beautiful stories of faith in the Hebrew Scriptures: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel chapter 3.

Faced with death in a fiery furnace, these three men knew that God had the power to save them. But they also knew something even more profound: Even if He did not save them, He would still be their God.

What does it mean to have that kind of faith? To release both our desperate hopes and our deepest fears, and simply trust in the goodness of God?

Come sit with me as we explore the extraordinary freedom of surrendering to God's will, the peace that can exist even in the midst of uncertainty, and the beautiful truth that we don't have to know how our story will end to trust the One who holds us.

We'll close with a prayer for anyone walking through a season of fear, anxiety, or uncertainty.

You can be afraid and still be faithful.

And you can find peace in the space between hope and fear.

  • God Hasn't Given Up on You | Isaiah: The Fifth Gospel #4

What happens when God has given His people everything they need to flourish—and they still turn away from Him?

Does He abandon them? Withdraw His love? Break His covenant?

In this fourth lesson of Isaiah: The Fifth Gospel, we discover something extraordinary about the faithfulness of God.

Through Isaiah's Song of the Vineyard, we explore the heartbreaking contrast between what God lovingly planted and the fruit His people actually produced. He looked for justice and righteousness, but found oppression and suffering.

And yet, this is not the end of the story.

Journey with me through Deuteronomy, the Psalms, Isaiah, and the words of Messiah in Matthew's Gospel as we discover the covenant pattern of unfaithfulness, judgment, purification, and restoration.

We'll explore the beauty of repentance, the meaning of God's loving correction, and why He calls each of us to bear the fruit of justice and righteousness—not only in our own lives, but in the world around us.

Because our unfaithfulness is not the end of the story. God is still at work.

  • Why God Never Gives Up on His People | Isaiah: The Fifth Gospel, Lesson 3

Why was Jerusalem so precious to God? And why was He so deeply hurt when His people turned away from Him?

In this third lesson, we're going to discover that Jerusalem was much more than a city. It was God's home on earth, the place where He came to dwell among His people, and the center of His covenant relationship with Israel.

We'll go back to King David's conquest of Jerusalem, Solomon's dedication of the Temple, and the covenant God established through Moses. Along the way, we'll discover some remarkable connections between the Hebrew Scriptures and Jesus, including His welcome of the blind and the lame into the Temple.

And we'll look at something I think is so important for us to understand: God isn't simply an angry God who punishes people when they do wrong. He is a loving and faithful Father who is deeply affected by our unfaithfulness, but who never gives up on His people.

Even when He knows we're going to fail Him, He remains faithful. His purpose is to purify us, restore us, and bring us back into the beautiful covenant relationship He created us for.

  • Isaiah Lesson 2: God Never Gives Up

Isaiah: The Fifth Gospel | Episode 2 — The Faithfulness and Love of God

Do you know how much God loves you? I think you're going to discover that He loves you far more than you ever imagined!

In this second lesson, we're going to look at God's covenant promises, beginning with Abraham, and see how He has been working throughout history to fulfill them. Even when His people turn away from Him, God remains faithful. He never forgets His promises, and He never gives up on His people.

And why does He do all of this? Because God loves us, and more than anything, He wants to dwell with us, to be our God, and for us to be His people.

Come sit with me as we continue discovering the extraordinary love of God through the book of Isaiah.

  • Isaiah: The 5th Gospel, Lesson 1

Isaiah: The Fifth Gospel | Lesson 1 — Discovering Isaiah

Why has the book of Isaiah been called the Fifth Gospel? And how does a prophet who lived more than 700 years before Jesus reveal so much about the Messiah?

In this opening lesson, we discover Isaiah's remarkable place in God's unfolding story of redemption. From judgment and exile to restoration, covenant promises, and the coming of the Messiah, Isaiah reveals the faithfulness of God and His purpose for Israel and the nations.

Come sit with me as we begin discovering the Gospel woven throughout the Hebrew Scriptures.
