Detected in July by NASA’s ATLAS project in Chile, this 12-mile-wide object is only the third known visitor from beyond our solar system. Traveling at 37 miles per second, it will pass 130 million miles from Earth on October 30, 2025.

While scientists confirmed it’s a comet, astrophysicist Loeb’s new paper raises a bold question: could 3I/ATLAS be alien technology?
