Hey guys!!

Happy MONDAY FUNDAY!!

This ONE-SHOT issue is the third element of the LIMITED SERIES Darkhold!

As we all know, Doctor Doom will someday kill the universe, and this just might be the last sunrise for Earth Realm!!

After reading from a FORBIDDEN ANCIENT TEXT, Doctor Victor Von Doom mistakenly (or purposefully??) summons a dark elder god who is about unleash hell on Earth at any moment!

Who can save us all?  The Avengers of Course!! Or...... maybe not this time.  The Scarlett Witch, who is all too familiar with the dark universe, gathers a team composed of members from the various leagues of superheroes.. Spiderman, Wasp, Black Bolt, Iron Man, and BLADE to become the ULTIMATE CHAMPIONS to squareoff agains the gathering darkness!

One problem, they must first come face-to-face with their own inner fears and demons!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the BLADE installment of this series!  It has all the ingredients of a PERFECT ISSUE and sets up the possibilities of WHAT COULD BE in a world RULED BY THE DAYWALKER  if only they continued this storyline!

The outer plot is standard - blood god turns everyone either human or vamp, no matter if you have superpowers or mutant abilities before, you will be assigned to only one of two species from here on out!

The LAST AVENGERS - including CITIZEN V - are on their way to finally takedown the VAMPIRE KING OF NY - Mayor Fisk!  Only one blockade stands in their way - BLADE and his sudden BLOODLUST for both human and vampire alike!! Has be fully turned to the monster he always FEARED he would become??

WOW!!  Nearly perfect paneling, filled with RICH COLOR BLENDS, plenty of action scenes, and even some LAUGHS made this one of the BEST HORROR ACTION comics I have read in quite some time!!

And the REVEAL of WHO Citizen V was a shocker!!

Definitely hope they revisit this ALTERNATE UNIVERSE!!  It was the TRIFECTA of comic book awesomeness!!!

Second, A CALLOUT - this is a VALIANT COMIC!! - By the time I realized that I had added Aftershock, everything was post-production and uploaded already.. Please excuse my editing error haha!

WOW!

This PREMIERE ISSUE by Valiant packs in ALOT!!

Our hero - or is he the villain? - awakes with his MEMORY WIPED CLEAN, except for one fact - he is almost INFINITELY POWERFUL!

But why is everyone in the crowd watching him with FEAR IN THEIR EYES?  Why have the POLICE and a MYSTERIOUS GROUP of Psionic Beings surrounded him and tried to wipe his presence from the face of the earth AGAIN?

And who is this mystery narrator who is seething with both ENVY and DISDAIN for our unknown dark hero?

I think the creators of this comic wanted to ensure that we the readers show up for Issue 2!  They build an entire world, as well as an expansive mythos, in a matter of pages.  

Several factions of warring and rival psionic groups and characters, and their bloody history with each other, are quickly introduced and detailed.  Then the action explodes -  literally -  from the first page, and the story rarely pauses to make sure that the reader is caught up with everything happening.  

It's a very dizzying experience!  But if you love non-stop panels filled with plot that keeps pushing all the way through the last frame, then THE HARBINGER is for you!

Bright, vibrant coloring adds to the speed of the mile-a-minute thrills that we run through with the characters and the last page definitely leaves us wondering, What TF just happened - but in a good way! - LOL

I'm fairly sure Issue 2 will slow the pace down a bit, so we can sort out who everyone is and what their place in the story will be but, until then, you will probably have to read this issue at least TWICE to begin trying to piece that puzzle together yourself

Overall, I think this series is going to be a long-lasting winner, it just needs to gather a loyal audience to help keep this series going to press every month

Strap on yer Riding Boots!  Because this is gonna be a fun and wild adventure!!

I totally admit that I am a newbie when it comes to the adventures of Spawn and his supernatural allies and enemies, HOWEVER, I absolutely love cowboy themed stories.. especially GUNSLINGER tales!  So I knew I had to have this PREMIERE ISSUE!!

I didn't even realize I chose the FOLD-OUT COVER, but I was so THRILLED when I saw his cape flapping in the HOT DESERT WINDS on the front!!

Honest Opinion: This is a great story!  Whether you are a Spawn Universe veteran or a new recruit, you will absolutely enjoy this intro chapter

Angels and Demons everywhere!  Lots of BLAM! BLAM! hot pursuit moments, and art that really animates the action all the way through

Reader notes: This is a QUARTET of vignettes, so you are getting both the main central plot (which I believe is going to be ongoing) as well as three additional shorter stories with GUNSLINGER SPAWN as the primary character throughout

I liked this issue so much that I am actually inspired to go back and read Spawn's Universe 1 to find out the origins of the Gunslinger and how he ended up in future Earth realm!!

Monday Funday has arrived! 

One of my ALL-TIME favorite movies is THE USUAL SUSPECTS! which is probably why I had SO MUCH FUN reading this new title by AFTERSHOCK COMICS!  This tale of murdery, mystery, and mayhem really reminded me o that cult classic is so many ways.  Unlikely allies on a mission that concludes in only one of two ways - death or salvation

Is it true that even the worst person has a spot of good in them?  Do villains deserve a chance at REDEMPTION or should they spend the rest of ETERNITY chasing a Heaven that will never be awarded to them?

This is the central premise of THE HEATHENS, where a group of history's MOST NOTORIOUS ANTI-HEROES are summoned from PURGATORY and given ONE LAST SHOT at reaching the peace of the after-life -- OR SO THEY THINK!

A breach of SPACE/TIME has opened, allowing some of the MOST EVIL SERIAL KILLERS the world has ever known to recreate their horrible acts again and again as they roam the shadows of today's world.

Enter the Heathens!!

If they can retrieve the real-life monsters and send them back to hell, they may finally be set free to rest in peace OR could this all be part of their unyielding punishment instead?  To chase monsters from here to eternity in a vicious loop?

I really enjoyed this vibrant art and panels of this premiere issue.  And the feisty dialogue between the main characters made this a fun story to enjoy over a lunchtime cup of coffee! Oh yea, did I mention that JACK THE RIPPER is their FIRST MISSION assignment - and he's already been busy terrorizing the late night hours...

This new BATMAN series packs more than a Punch!!

This newest edition to the Dark Knight Universe sets up a brutal noire world of violence and shadows, where all the players are trapped in a cloak of constant trauma and brutality

The issue reads like an episode of Law & Order (the good ones from wayyy back), where there is an ultra thin line separating crime and punishment

The Batman, aka Bruce Wayan, lies bleeding to death on his former therapists balcony.  She nurses him back to health with one stipulation, he must report to her every morning at dawn to unload the darkness from his bruised mind or she will call the police and reveal his true identity

Elsewhere, an observant Gotham City police detective investigating the deaths of a group of seemingly unrelated yet psychotic former inmates, who were released on a technicality.  Bound and pushed from atop a building, all evidence points only to The Batman.  But who is this vigilante?  All her theories are flowing around the network of gadgets hidden around the city, and where there is newwave tech, there is also a funnel of deep pockets funding it. 

Fantastic watercolors, overlapping panels, and inverse imagery really illustrate the constant barage of savagery and inescapable pyschosis that haunt the citizens of this dark world!

Definitely recommended for hardcord Batman / Dark Knight fans, and seems to be set-up as a soft prequel to the upcoming The Batman feature film

The new Dune is finally here but I'm not 100% satisfied with the new version 👀😬

Here's the stats:

Pryme: Never read the book, only remembers pieces of the 80s version.  Biggest takeaway from the 2021 relaunch is how COOL THE NINJA SUITS look

Q: Read the book at least 2.5x.  Watched every revision of the 80s version, including the ultimate 4hr director's super expanded super remastered with all the voiceover and princess-powered narration

Overall, yes, this is a VISUALLY STUNNING and ethnically diverse vision of the DUNE UNIVERSE that most accurately depicts the DYNAMIC chess-piece power plays and desert-born culture and people pinned at the center of this definitive space opera

But, I think it lacks a certain sense of claustrophobia and urgency that defined the action and tension of the 80s version

However, I am biased in my opinion.  The 80s Dune was probably the VERY FIRST scifi film that I actually sat and watched from beginning to closing credits.  It brings a certain sense of nostalgia and excitement that was not present for me during this relaunch.  

I do, however, hope others enjoyed this film and that is brings a whole new audience into the awe and climatic showdown that swirls within the KNOWN UNIVERSE and it's centerpiece, Arrakis.

Here's another KICKA$$ Kickstarter that true superhero fans should definitely check out!

First things first!  The illustration in this premiere issue is AMAZING!!  The coloring and texture really make this a standout indie comic!  And the glossy cover really adds a great, collectable finishing touch!!

As for plot, WOW, it starts off with LOTS OF HIGH TENSION and plenty of bloody action to keep your attention glued to the page

What happens when a super-powered alien GOES ROGUE?  Not only AGAINST HUMANITY but against members of its own kind?  

These questions are the centerpiece of this fast-paced indie comic by Paul Thayer and his great team of artists.  

Only a team of ENHANCED SUPER SOLDIERS can put an end to the relentlessly brutal killing spree of a superbeing, whose only thirst is to destroy every living soul and every alien being walking the Earth!

A GREAT COMBO for chatting about GREAT COMICS!! 

Honest Review!

I arrived for the AMAZING COVER but stayed for THE FUN TIME!!

There is nothing new in this comic that you haven't read before, BUT somehow the writers and artists manage to create a plot with just enough action, accompanied by fantastic still frames of this gorgeous woman, to make GUN HONEY a fun comic to tune out the dull day.

Definitely a great read for a Tuesday evening that is in need of some spice or when you just need something exciting to prop up your work day lunch break

There was no hard case to be solved in this premiere issue, but it was a good setup into whatever adventure our lovely leading lady is about to fall into

I honestly think I am going to drop into Issue 2 to see what happens next.. she's literally trapped in a closed room with killers...
